Weekly note:
Hi parents,
The last newsletter I sent lead with: "Is it Winter? Is it Spring? No one really knows."
Ok, so I guess now we know.
On that note, with the Winter Storm Warning just issued for this weekend's storm, and based on the forecast of precipitation possibly starting by or before 4PM, we are taking the decision now to have EverAfter closed tomorrow. While it's possible that conditions won't deteriorate until later, we don't want to end up in a last-minute scramble to pick kids up early and get staff home safely.
Please note--the school day is still on as scheduled. This decision now is only for EverAfter. Stay attuned to the normal channels for any announcements on school closures.
In more fun news, we have the next Climbing Club sign-up ready! We will have a 3-week session on Feb 13, 20 and 27. (We'll also have sessions in March and May). And, SchoolBucks now has a feature that makes finding the enrollments easier--here is a direct link to the Climbing Club enrollment (you'll still have to log-in, you just won't have to click on 6 other things to get there).
We will also have a couple more clubs starting in March that we'll have more information on in the coming weeks, including Chess, Dance, Art & Writing, and maybe something else Adventure-y.
Stay warm and safe this weekend!
- James

FAQ of the Week
What is your inclement weather closure policy?
-
If Evergreen Community Charter School is closed or closes early during the school day, EverAfter will also be closed. If Evergreen operates on a delay, this does not affect EverAfter's operation.
-
Evergreen and EverAfter closures will be announced through WLOS and on this website. In cases of early closures after a normal start to the school day, email notifications will also be sent.
-
If your child attends Buncombe County Schools and one of those districts closes early, EverAfter cannot pick your child up from their school.
