Weekly note:

Hi parents,

Reminder that sign-up for all day care on the 3rd, 6th and 7th is on the links page in SchoolBucks. We will keep that open until Thursday morning, but after that we're going to set the staffing and cannot guarantee space for any late additions.

*Note, all of these days are regular school days for Buncombe County Schools, so if your child joins us from there, it's business as usual.

Last week we started our Lego and Chess clubs! Both are full and waitlisted people are being notified. We do have plenty more space in our All Around Dance and Climbing Clubs, however. In fact, for the Dance club, we are opening it up to 3rd graders as well as 4th and 5th. We need a few more kids to sign up for it in order to actually start on Oct 9th, so please don't wait to sign up!

We also announced last week, in an email direct to middle school parents, that we will have a 6 week Volleyball Club session, start on October 13th. So far we have just the one solitary student signed up for this.

Last thing I want to mention this week: signing out on the iPad. I am noticing many days that there ends up being a long list of kids that aren't signed out of SchoolBucks by the end of the afternoon. Now, we know they left because you came in and we called for them and their group's staff crossed them off of their printed list. But, if they are still not signed out, it means the person signing them out isn't doing it correctly. So, as a reminder, if you do not see the "Thank you" on the iPad screen, you have not correctly signed your child out.

FAQ of the Week

If I was only a few minutes late picking my child up from school and they were sent to EverAfter, do I still get charged?

  • Yes. If they got far enough to get checked into SchoolBucks, then you've been charged. However, the plan is that we will only charge you $3 if you pick up before 2:30 on a Monday or 3:45 on Tues-Fri. And, we should mention that we are still trying to get SchoolBucks to do that automatically for us, so bear with us! We know there are some outstanding full day fees that still need to be edited--we'll get to it as long you don't pay it first!

    • (This applies to Evergreen students only, not students that come via bus from their school).
